Shreveport's Splash Kingdom Waterpark seeks a world record

Splash Kingdom Waterpark is looking for a few good (and not so good) swimmers to participate in a swimming lesson.

It seeks 50 people age 4 and up to be part of The World's Largest Swimming Lesson from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18. Pre-registration is required.

1,000 volunteers expected in Longview to build neighborhood houses

The Longview Habitat for Humanity and New Beginnings Baptist Church will partner to celebrate the church’s 30th anniversary with an expansive outreach project to residents of South Longview’s Stamper Park neighborhood.

The New Beginnings congregation will be in the neighborhood on Sunday morning performing service projects for the residents, building Habitat homes and hosting a party in the park for area children. The group’s 1000 volunteers will perform service projects at 32 homes including yard beautification, clean up, power washing, painting and fence repairs.
